Les Pagodes de Cos 1996  – Second Wine from Cos d’Estournel
Second Wine” from Cos d’Estournel in the strictest sense of the word. The vines are located at the core of the estate and are just a little younger than the ones used for the Premier Cru.
In a few years time, these same vines will also be producing the “Grand Vin”.

58% Cabernet Sauvignon—32% Merlot—10% Cabernet Franc

(As rated by Wine Spectator)
Tasting Notes:

Terroir. Perfect to drink now and will keep for an other decade.

The leading Estate is Cos d’Estournel which makes a very sensuous wine with waves of chocolaty, earthy black currant fruit bursting at the seams. Year in, year out, for the last twenty years this Estate has consistently produced wines rating 95 and above in W.S. and W.A.

The Château itself with its copper pagoda roof and massive carved door, is one of the most intriguing in Bordeaux.
