The finest Gourmets in France clamor after this wine which comes from a
very special, gravelly-clay soil which is hard in dry weather and
becomes slippery when it rains. Hard work for the producer but what a
result! This wine shows all the power and subtlety of the Terroir, in a
splendid vintage. Since 1939, the Mazeyres Property belongs to the
Moueix Dynasty. |

Tasting Notes:
The 2000 vintage has
a splendid dark Bordeaux color with black glints. The nose has fine
hints of oak and licorice and the palate starts on a note of stewed
prunes and morello cherries. The silky, round, full-bodied tannins are
now subdued and discrete and will allow drinking time to expand for
eight to ten more years! |
