The Vineyard of
Château Garraud is located on the prolongation of the height Pomerol
plateau and is made of various terroirs: deep gravel, clay-gravel, deep
clay with “crasse de fer” and sand. With an average of forty years, the
vineyard consists of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are
harvested by hand at full maturity and gone over by hand on a vibrating
sorting table.
The vinification is
done in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with a long
maceration. The maturing is conducted in the traditional manner for
about 18 months, 80% in oak barrels and 20% in vats. |
